…chuckle… Sexual politics and the tent of Abraham. The Christian folk in particular are at a heavy disadvantage on that one, being as how it looks like they not only inherited but amplified the original error and sin that resulted in the fear and insecurity that got the whole patriarchy submit thing going in the first place. IF Father Abraham had stood up to his wife on the matter of Ishmial and Isac… woman, nonsense, if we split it now both boys would have more to start with than we did… things would be a great deal different than they are now (the Isreal-Islam family fued still going on how many centuries lter?). But he didn’t, he let her henpeck him into sending his eldest son and his mother out into the wilderness where God had to intervene to keep them alive, and I don’t think any of the belief structures that came out of the tent of Abraham ever forgave Abraham the ultimate consequences of that one (they’d never ever admit that though, the whole pride thing and all) so they all claim God told them not to let it happen again… net result, religious patriarchy and the roots of sexual politics.

Moral of the story being don’t try and hide half the truth to cherry pick your scriptures for political leverage… they’ve been around this long because if you do you’ll bring the consequences down on yourself.
