Chilling new theory that Marilyn Monroe was murdered: Secret files, a lost diary
Marilyn Monroe’s death has long been shrouded in controversy with plenty of theories flying around regarding her demise.
The Hollywood star was long rumored to have a “red diary” that was thought to be missing, but now a retired Los Angeles Police Department detective has claimed the memoir was in fact real, and that he saw it. He claimed the book was among an array of secret dossiers locked in an LAPD intelligence-gathering department.
Mike Rothmiller claimed there were in the region of 70 photocopied pages taken from a binder with neat handwriting in block letters filled with thoughts and anecdotes. He said the author referred to two men in their writing, “John” and “Bobby,” sharing a tale of sex and betrayal.

The detective claims the content made him realise immediately that it was the long-lost diary of Marilyn Monroe. Among the stories in were details of sexual escapades with President John F Kennedy – including a rendezvous in a pool and complaints about “selfish” bedroom habits — as well as details of a relationship with his younger brother, Attorney General Robert F Kennedy.
The diary also included details of foreign policy in America, and a top-secret plot to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Later in the pages she appeared angered and frustrated over her relationship with the Kennedys and how she felt she had been used and cast aside.
Rothmiller claims the final entry was dated August 3, 1962 and saw Monroe unknowingly contribute to the story history would tell about her final moments and her death. One line said, “Peter said Robert will come tomorrow.” Marilyn would be dead just hours after the entry triggering a never-ending spiral of theories about her death ever since.
Monroe was officially said to have died by suicide from a barbiturates overdose at the age of 36 while at home in Brentwood, Los Angeles. However, Rothmiller has his own belief that the diary entries mean she had placed RFK not only in Los Angeles but possibly in her home at the time she died.
Rothmiller also believes that Marilyn was in fact murdered on August 4 1962 — with Robert F Kennedy, the then-attorney general of the United States the person responsible for her death. Rothmiller says he kept quiet for many years partly because of what he calls an assassination attempt on his own life.
However, he has now asked LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman to launch a fresh probe into Monroe’s death. A letter to Hochman, exclusively obtained by the Daily Mail, sees Rothmiller urge the DA to “open an investigation and thoroughly reexamine the circumstances of Marilyn Monroe’s death.”
He has also requested that new toxicology analysis is carried out on her blood, tissue or body fluids looking “for a broad spectrum of deadly substances that were not considered or known during the original autopsy.”
Rothmiller said, “History has to be accurate. If there is a mistake, history has to be corrected.”
