It doesnt take a genius to see that these “hearings” are unfair and unjust. The idea that allowing the “victim” to be questioned will somehow make them less likely to testify or press charges is absurd. In this case she did exactly that at a criminal trial!! And while one has great sympathy for genuine victims of abuse… it is altogether to easy to make false claims- and the man’s life is ruined- even when he is found innocent. The Tawana Brawly case comes to mind… Cary Conure (sp?) and others- so yes men should have the right to sue for defamation. We no longer live in a society when victims are permanently shunned or seen as damaged goods… so equality for all is due and just.
