    I had family right in the middle of the Everett Massacre in 1916. One died. Small town Sheriff’s during the period ran their own little corrupt kingdoms with deputies as henchmen. They accepted payola from big timber companies to break the unions and often used whatever violence that suited them to do so. Often, the good guys were painted bad, and the bad guys were painted good.
