I can totally appreciate this fellows predicament, and, the answer is obvious. Oral exams, thematic presentations (aka, “papers”), recorded in a proctored, RF (aka, cell phone signal) shielded room, where the AI isn’t answering questions, IT IS ASKING THEM!

As an hourly hand I broke in half a dozen rookie engineers, several of which would eventually be my boss. Believe me on this one: out in the real world those who have no degree have no problem recognizing those who cheated to get theirs!
