I’d have a fine debate with Harry. Perhaps it’s in his book, or not, but the issue is the internal authority of self required to enable critical thinking in regards to anything presented to you by another, and presumably just as self serving as your are, human. Without that internal authority of self (already outlawed by most of the shrink set as a mental aberation) there can be no critical thinking, and without that what this resolves to is just a power grab between the social functions that operate in the abscence of critical thought. But not likely to happen, once that function is restored political propaganda stops being seen as left and right and starts being treated for what it is: food for the rosebushes awaiting a rototiller to work it in.

As for Religion? One bit flip: teach the idea that scripture (mine, yours, whoevers) was gifted to us to be a book of questions, not answers. Considered as questions scripture makes a phenomenal course of study on human nature. Taken as answers and what you get is what Harry is griping about.
