A radical solution for a radical problem: shut down the bleepin civilian internet for 90 days. Set it in advance for the legit businesses to have supply line communication, but totally power down anything that resembles social media and launch counter measures against the dark web. Social media is just as big an addiction as any form of synthetic opium. Might as well get two birds with one stone. Ninety days should be long enough to pop withdrawal symptoms out into the open where they can be treated, and by the end of the 90 days the dealers will be back out on the street trying to make rent where your minor army of narcotics agents in alliance with the more honorable of the street gangs (fighting mercenary, of course… pay them a big enough bounty to make it worth their while) will be waiting for them. And of course, keep good records on what happened and sell that to Hollywood to spin down into some seriously gritty action adventure flicks with a serious historical flavor.
And if that’s just a tad rad for your taste? The at least stop teaching the kids that Doctors and Medicine are Gods on Earth and anything unhappy can be cured with a pill. You’ll still need those street gangs fighting mercenary for you… as an armed guard against what BigPharma would turn loose, but hey… it would make just as good a movie.
