It runs a wide range. There are the nightmare tenants and landlords in the best of times. Rent IS too high in many places and property owners have a right to make money on their investment, but too many want to become rich by constantly raising the rent on people whose income can’t keep up. America is really arrogant. The problem could be solved with affordable tiny homes, but cities discriminate and make regulations and zoning to keep them out because it isn’t worth it to their tax base, realtors, and lending institutions. They want people rattling around in huge houses with huge rent or huge mortgages.
America has got to wake up to this champagne taste and beer pocketbook. It wasn’t that long ago we were living in sod huts, cabins, tar paper shacks and anything else we could AFFORD. This generation wants gold toilets, but should be grateful they don’t have to use a two-holer out back. Those who live above their means make it tough on everybody. If you can’t pay your rent, at least pick up your damned garbage and respect someone else’s property. Take some pride in yourself!
