The whole affordable housing deal is rigged worse than it ever was. I had a nationally known cattle ranch. After a bloody divorce in my 40’s, I lost my home and savings. Went back to cowboying. At 50 my truck and personal belongings were stolen and never recovered. I fell into the rental trap. ONLY because a sibling with a stellar credit rating bought a house as an investment, was I able to escape. I pay the mortgage payment on a two bed, two bath house which is LESS than the rent I was paying for a one bedroom apartment in a hell hole. THAT is America’s huge problem. It IS a caste system.
