This one has been a puzzler for a decade or so. Still not certain but the longer I look the more convinced I am that the Russian’s are having as many problems controlling the Corporate Neo-Fascist influence in their country as we are.

Equally, the longer I look the more I’m convinced that they, just like we, for internal political reasons need someone else to take the blame in the mind of the common man. Anyway you slice it this story would play just as well as a finger-pointing “see the villain… see the villain!!!” distraction in St. Petersburg as say Wichita. All you have to do is plug in the appropriate informal moniker… Russian or American… and it all plays through the same.

The Corporate Neo-Fascist are a global force, they’ll mess with anyone’s democracy if they smell profit, and the sort of tawdry corruption, big buck but still tawdry, coming out of these investigations sounds to me like what the CNF would use as a standard tactic to influence democracies.

They have to know better than to try and offer a bribe to an elected official, that’s a ridiculous risk to reward ratio, effectively operational suicide. But, spend a bit to make sure you have something on anyone and everyone who might contribute to the campaign fund sponsoring the man where you want influence? Absolutely! That lets you (the CNF) keep your hands clean while their money does your talking!

Since when will a Corporation of any sort pass up that kind of a deal? 100 to 1 return on investment, and no risk to SMERSH’s shareholders? Oh yea. They’d do that in a heartbeat. Wonders I do if anyone official will ever validate or contradict my little theory.

Watchman, what of the night?
