Sorry, but this constitutional crisis did sneak up on us. When the task of administration has grown to the point that the decisions of those who perform those tasks act with the force of law in many, many places the law makes no mention of there is indeed a crisis of a constitutional nature. That said, the actions of Trump/Musk then resolve to be of the same sort as the original problem… actions which assume to the force of law in places where the law does not go. The former a slow and erosive force, the latter a sharp and explosive one, and both very dangerous to a Democracy for quite different reasons.
And, in total snarcastic tombstone black comedy mode? Didn’t anyone in the mighty machines have the foresight to realize that when you actually begin the process of draining a swamp the frogs who live there are going to be croaking loudly all day long?
