Thank you for publishing this one! IMO this subject is one of, if not the, largest factors that needs understood to understand the present state of affairs!
I will toss this thought out to fly wing for David’s understanding of the social consequences of unrecognized hardcore PTSD… not all of the damage suffered by the returning veterans was the result of doing battle with the enemy. In fact, from a social standpoint I’d say the combat induced PTSD was actually the lesser element involved.
Statistics are that in WW2 a man enlisted in the army had roughly one chance in ten of facing the enemy in active combat. That… would include my father, who was a fine example of what David is talking about.
But what of the other nine?
They also came home to a changed land, and promptly became the victims of their own country’s war time propaganda!!! The propaganda was that they were ALL victorious warriors… warriors… when in point of fact only one in ten actually qualified as “warrior” in the first place!
Talk about a way to wholesale install insecurities and lessened self esteem! They, to deal with this threat to their masculinity, did exactly as they’d been taught… we stay in ranks, we all dress the same, and we keep our mouths shut… no one will be able to tell us from the other bunch. I give you the birth of the “Establishment” man, and the cultural foundations of what is now being attacked and exploited by all sides of the covert cultural warfare currently raging for the heart and soul of America.
For the CCP to exploit this is to be expected, a weapon of war, but for America’s own Empire Academia’s Kingdom of Psychology to help them do it is unforgivable, and a blatant act of cultural treason.
