    My favorite is the battered copper rooster that used to sit atop the spire of Notre-Dame Cathedral. It rode the burning spire to the ground and survived.

    Inside were a relic of St. Denis, one of St. Genevieve and what was believed to have been one of the 70 thorns from Jesus Christ’s crown added in 1935 by the archbishop of Paris.

    Tough old bird….
