Those who know their God (or Goddess, for that matter) will not be deceived, those who only know religion might be deceived while those who only know politics expect to be deceived… and lay elaborate plans to gain power and profit from the plausible deniability a public perception of deception can bestow.
I smell the third option all over these attacks on people who, as American Citizens ( regardless of their position in the American society), are exercising their First Amendment Rights. I for one consider such efforts to use and misuse public opinion in such an ignoble cause as legitimate reason to consider them just as much of a threat to the United States of America as any of the other weapons systems of Covert Cultural warfare currently deployed against the Constitution.
