Why Are Women Like Teachers Gravitating to Sex Work Like OnlyFans?
Why Are Women Like Teachers Gravitating to Sex Work Like OnlyFans?grew up in the 1980’s. The age of big hair, big shoulder pads and bright makeup. Teachers tended to fall into two categories- old as dirt and dressed like a 1950s school marm. Or they looked like middle-aged Jazzercise instructors.
I don’t recall any of the boys in the class thinking any of the female teachers were attractive. They were just boring adults, who did boring jobs.
Now, 40 years later, wtf has happened?!! My husband even commented on this the other night. The attractiveness level of teachers has gone way up.
I don’t know why or how. And it’s not because people are skinnier (the 1980s were the height of anorexia/diet culture). They generally are just more attractive.
And here is where the current conundrum comes in for attractive teachers.
Low Pay + Too Many Bills= OnlyFans Sex Work
Many are resorting to OnlyFans. While I support women choosing how they want to live their lives and make money, I do not support teachers doing this kind of work.
WHY THEY ARE RESORTING TO THIS WORK
Financial strain:
The first reason is always they are underpaid. Or they want to pay off their school loans. Or they just like money.
Flexibility:
The second reason is they can do OnlyFans in their off time. In the privacy of their own home.
Anonymity:
Well, not really, as I will explain.
Lack of Alternatives:
Especially if women live in rural areas or don’t have specialized skills, they may see OnlyFans as a good alternative.
A RECENT CASE STUDY
I have seen many news articles about teachers resorting to this type of work. Here is the latest one:
A former teacher at a high school in St. Louis who resigned after her OnlyFans page was reported to district officials has been fired after just days on a new job.
Brianna Coppage was a teacher for five years, spending two at St. Clair High School. She was put on leave in October 2023 after it was discovered that she was using OnlyFans to supplement her teaching salary.
After her OnlyFans became public, Coppage told KMOV that she made $1 million on the platform. Her yearly teaching salary was $42,000, she said at the time.
After leaving the district, Coppage told KMOV that she struggled to find her purpose.
Teacher who resigned after her OnlyFans page was discovered says new employer fired her for…

Okay, first of all, if she is making $1 million/year, why is she working as a teacher? It may have given her a sense of purpose but she could just did volunteer work instead.
OnlyFans is supposedly anonymous, right? No, it is not. Ms. Coppage made several critical errors:
She used her full name. I don’t know why on God’s green earth she would not use a pseudonym. I will tell you from a simple search, I was able to find Ms. Coppage’s page. It was very, very easy to find. Everything online is searchable and rarely is hidden.
She refused to disclose her work. This is often a very clear cut case to employers to terminate employment.
She did not take into account the effect on her students/school. This is what bothers me the most. Many parents would be able to find this person very easily. I don’t get why she thinks she had anonymity making $1 million a year.
LADIES, YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS
Now we come to the crux of the issue. Why are women resorting to sex work to pay the bills? Especially women in professions like teachers or those who work with the public? These are educated women. If teaching is not paying the bills, go into other career fields.
It is not hard for someone to find another person’s OnlyFans page. I can see why a school would have to fire someone over this embarrassment.
Teachers are supposed to be role models. No one wants to google their teacher’s name and find an OnlyFans page or a smutty Instagram or TikTok account.
The other issue is, even if these women aren’t caught, why are they okay with their OnlyFans accounts being out there in the first place? I know of a few people in my acquaintance circle who work OnlyFans, but think no one knows. One has had family members find the account but they still don’t stop. Ewwww, gross.
Anyone can make up a fake name, a fake email and sign up for someone’s OnlyFans account. You don’t know who you are talking to, or doing sex stuff for. Why don’t people get this?
ONLY FANS IS RUINING LIVES
According to Forbes, those on OnlyFans face mental health problems as well.
A 2022 study published in Sexuality and Culture found that sex workers were likely to internalize the stigma associated with sex work and feel lonelier as a result. The participants of the study, mostly women, also had low levels of mental well-being.
Women also face higher social consequences for sex work:
A 2021 study found that society perceives women who are engaged in sex work in a devastatingly negative light. Specifically, the researchers discovered that a woman’s choice to involve herself in sex work made her a target for harassment, dehumanization, and prejudice.
According to this author, she tried OnlyFans and was making good money but the degradation wasn’t worth it.
During my time as an OnlyFans creator, I was more depressed and anxious than I’ve ever been before. I was making really good money — great money actually, on average up to $20,000 a month — but I felt like my subscribers were constantly pushing my boundaries.
No matter what I posted, they wanted more explicit content. I ended up sending nude photos a few times even though I didn’t want to because I felt so pressured and they were offering so much money. I would also receive terrible messages that were so degrading and I didn’t see any filtering system on OnlyFans to block them.
It was obvious that they saw me as an object for their pleasure and not as a person. It was awful being constantly sexualized to such a dehumanizing level.
I regret doing OnlyFans when I turned 18. People treated me like an object and the money just…

In Conclusion:
I don’t support women, especially teachers, working on OnlyFans. If they can’t get a raise/better job/a respectable side hustle, Target is always hiring. The money is not worth the loss of employment and embarrassment.

From Bored Panda:
I girl I know/used to work with decided to jump on the only fans bandwagon. Went all in doing all sort of things on camera. Well the truth is, only the top 1% of OF creators make alot of money and the average one makes $200 a month. If you don’t start with a big social following it’s an uphill battle.
Anyway some people in her town (not super tiny population 120k) saw the account, someone posted the pics of her on Facebook and basically everyone found out. Including her parents.
So after not making much money and photos that will forever be on the internet, she packed it all in to go back to kindergarten teaching. But being in a country town no one would give her a job and people would stare at her wherever she went.
She had to move to the city, and she has a job now. I just hope her new employer doesn’t google image search her 😬
But yeah she really regrets it, could have made more money doing Uber eats on the weekend.
