Corporal Augustine Martinez of New Mexico in 1919. A few hours before the Armistice, he and four others attacked three heavy machine guns. Fired on directly at 30 yards, they charged the guns and captured them. Martinez was the sole survivor and awarded the Distinguished Service Cross [1027 x 1027].
