Do people care when a women goes out braless? : r/ask

evanjayar 11-14 minutes

I ditched bras last December because I have sensitive skin + it's just much more comfortable for me. I've mostly been wearing thick sweaters and cardigans through the cold, so no one is able to tell. For summer, I'm planning on wearing tees and tank tops, which means that me being braless is going to be much more noticeable.

For guys on here, do you care when you see women go out braless? Is it something you notice?

For women, when you go out braless do you get stares and weird looks?

I feel uncomfortable if I go braless because it is very obvious that people (men and women) are trying to not look at my boobs but they have magnets in their eyes that they are fighting. It’s not everyone, but it’s enough people that it will affect my day. Is it wrong/right? Idk. But the only thing that matters is that I don’t like the experience. So I don’t go braless.

Honestly pasties are the best if you want the freedom of going braless without the main problems of it.

It's not even the nips most of the times it's the sway and bounce thats hypnotic and draws the eyes.

I wish I have this option but have large breasts I cannot unless I want to be picking them off the floor one day!

Guy here, I think men notice a lot. However, more so just because I’m not used to seeing it. So it’s eye catching however, any guy I know wouldn’t just perv and stare. Notice and away we are. That’s my honest answer, apologies if it’s creepy or anything like that.

Get a good look, Costanza?

I wouldn't know unless it's blaringly obvious.

Plus as a man, I don't mind if it is obvious.

The typical response for me is "Nice." Then move on with my life.

If you have big breasts it's noticeable, but all that a man would do upon noticing that is think "nice" and then discreetly look at you for 2 seconds and if you're wearing summer clothes that's probably going to happen anyway, so ultimately it doesn't make a difference.

It’s very noticeable, yes. Would people care? Many will..

🤣 This cannot be a sincere question

Woman here. I don't often go braless but occasionally I do. I literally do not care anymore if anyone else cares or not, or notices or not. Why would I choose anyone else's comfort over my own, for my own life?

Exactly. Same reason I don't wear pants

I think it depends on the size of your breasts. Honestly if I were about a C cup or under I’d only wear one on special occasions.

I have DDs so I’d be jingling and jangling all over the place if I went sans. My compromise is a low impact sports bra.

Nipple size and areola colour in relation to top colour and material will also draw unwanted attention like DD boobs imo.

I have big nips in relation to boob size and feel uncomfortable going sans bra in a tank top but a thick cotton t-shirt or sweater and for sure I'm flying free.

I imagine your back appreciates some support with DD? I'm currently big into the supportive bralette from Mark's.

As an American living in Europe, it is much more common here and people do not care. Just seeing breasts is not sexualized (going topless in Germany is pretty much legal for women anywhere that is legal for men) and even fully nude co-ed saunas are a cultural thing with no towels to cover up.

With that being said, a woman should be able to wear (or not wear) what they feel comfortable in without feeling inappropriate - the real problem lies with the guys who gape and stare.
