Trench warfare was a grim and grueling experience, marked by long stretches of boredom punctuated by sudden bursts of terror. Soldiers endured freezing temperatures, disease, and the ever-present threat of enemy fire, all while clinging to a sense of duty, humor, and brotherhood.
