Fox News’ Mark Levin issued an ominous warning after Tucker Carlson’s speech at the memorial held for slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Sunday.

“Ultimately, he [Kirk] was a Christian evangelist, and it actually reminds me of my favorite story ever,” mused Carlson, who has been widely criticized for fanning the flames of anti-Semitism in recent years. “So it’s about 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem, and Jesus shows up and he starts talking about the people in power, and he starts doing the worst thing that you can do, which is telling the truth about people, and they hate it and they just go bonkers. They hate it, and they become obsessed with making him stop. This guy’s got to stop talking. We’ve got to shut this guy up. And I can just sort of picture the scene in a lamplit room with a bunch of guys sitting around and eating hummus, thinking about what do we do about this guy telling the truth about us. We must make him stop talking. And there’s always one guy with the bright idea, and I can hear him say, ‘I’ve got an idea, why don’t we just kill him? That’ll shut him up. That’ll fix the problem.’ It doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t work that way. Everything is inverted.”

The crack was interpreted by many as an allusion to both the conspiracy theories circulating about Israel being responsible for Kirk’s murder, and the common refrain of anti-Semitic groups that the Jews as a people are responsible for Christ’s execution.

Among those to interpret it as such was Foundation for Defense of Democracies senior advisor Richard Goldberg, who submitted that “Tucker’s unhealthy obsession with Jews and Israel is a disease that is poisoning the Republican Party” on X.

“While I am not surprised by his decision to use Charlie Kirk’s assassination as a platform to spread this disease – indeed, he is a disciplined strategic communicator – I am surprised by how few conservatives have the backbone to stand up and say they will no longer platform him. He has a freedom of speech. We have a freedom of association,” added Goldberg.

Levin concurred with Goldberg’s point, writing in a quote-tweet that, “I’ve been publicly and openly confronting this Jew-and Israel-hatred for a long time, including Tucker and his ilk. I understand the consequences for doing this, including the vile personal attacks on social media, by certain podcasters and politicians, etc. But now is the time for good and moral patriots to take a stand.”

“I strongly encourage you to speak out, as Richard has here. It’s crucial right now before irreversible damage is done to our country, our movement, and our party, and the poison further feeds the increasingly aggressive hate swirling around our society. This is a real cancer that is metastasizing and leads to horrendous consequences,” he continued. “I’m greatly disappointed in the lack of public figures in the media and politics, Republican and Democrat, with few notable exceptions, condemning this. And Richard is right about some who are prominent even platforming and promoting these people. I want to thank President Trump for leading an entire government-wide war against antisemitism. He has been steadfast and unrelenting. Others should follow his lead.”

Carlson and Levin have been feuding for months, with the former accusing the latter of “lobbying for war” and the latter calling the former, “the Happy Hooker of politics.”
