They were SCOTS that went to America via Ulster! The Scots were Presbyterian. I know for a fact because my line were those people. My family from south of the Scottish borders and their wives from north of the Scottish borders. They came to America with the McComas family that were Scots. All known as “brave” soldiers. Seven generations later I have been a baptized Presbyterian for 70 years. The Irish were Catholic there and they were Catholic here. NO Irish in my DNA map.
No offense to the Irish, but it was the Scots that fought over the border for centuries and they knew how to fight. They are still finding swords that the Scots hid when they were made to disarm by the King.
