Nah. If you have to read a self-help book, go to a counselor, divide the chores…then you are with the wrong person. I spent 25 years with a Christian that made me do all of those things while they did as they damned please. Argue about me hanging a picture on the wall when they could have hung one up. 25 years of trying to pick a fight with me. Drive for 8 hours and not say a word. Around other people she wouldn’t shut up.
She finally got herself into trouble. I got her a lawyer, wrote the judge, and a year later she left me while I was at work. Don’t waste your life trying to fix a bad relationship. I gave her the house and the only new truck I ever owned and she lost it all within a year.
I’ve been with my current partner for 20 years. We laugh every day. Never had a screaming match. Never argued about where you could hang a picture. Don’t waste your life with someone that is wounded, because YOU will end up wounded. I learned the hard way.
