Ah, The Atlantic. Quite a publication. Nine out of any ten offerings they’ll represent objectives I’ll support, in theory, while I am totally opposed to the methods they’ll usually promote. This article though is a bit of a unique case. The contents of this article, set into an analogy appropriate to the current social situation, is a ship’s captain in battle with a superior force issuing one of the grimmer commands found within his rank and responsibility: “get me a damage report and a casualty count. Now.”
I see the consequences they report, and they’re not good. They were both well presented and very believable within the context offered. For that I owe The Atlantic a thank you. I also draw a radically different set of conclusions from the same data, the same statistics. For that I also owe The Atlantic a thank you. I, like many others, have known for decades one of the forces attempting to degrade The United States of America into third world status is operating under the auspices and authority of mandatory public education become mandatory social indoctrination.
The Covid virus is obviously a hostile force, and considered as a social force is obviously a more powerful force than what the ignoble forces just mentioned could command. They would not have shut down their main production line and risked a serious fragmentation point in their plots and plans otherwise. For the first time in recent memory the commanders of the hostile force are wondering what they have left to work with. For the first time in recent memory they’re the one’s asking for a damage report and casualty count after an encounter with a larger force not participating in the Covert Cultural Warfare raging for control of America’s psyche and soul. So, to the author and the editors of The Atlantic: Thank You for sharing your damage report. The information will be heeded and your effort will not be wasted.
Oh, and in postscript? The obvious answer is to establish community based MENTORING programs to facilitate the sort of one on one instruction time needed to recoup the legitimate losses in the realms of educating the kids. Yes, I know, that would also expose the children to attitudes and motivations that might not be exactly politically correct, might compromise a major column of the fauxLiberal’s pincer attack on America, but you’ll have to pick your poison. The work is absolutely needed, and your casualty count obviously contradicts the idea of having those properly conditioned to dispense the indoctrination make the attempt.
