Hmmm… an interesting pitch well thrown so tight on the strike zone (fact based objective analysis) as to make me wonder who the unnamed author might be. Almost sounds like one of Claude’s kids working for a female college prof.

Regardless of the author the point is well taken even if not fully illuminated. In the realms of psyche-space I’ve observed that people do tend to follow a law close akin to the perfect gas law from the sciences of reality (P=VrT), to wit: increase the mass in a closed system (effectively reducing the volume available to any given “molecule” incarcerated therein) and the temperature goes up along with the pressure.

In this context Temp equates to anger, and the pressure is the cumulative effect of social or cultural expectations (that will ALWAYS lag a generation or more behind the current situation) on the individual molecules (people). In psyche-space as in science easy seen the least stable, the lowest octane if you will, are the one’s who will detonate first.

The truth I see is that the shifting factors this article details has the engine of the American economy pinging ferociously, destructively, and trying to go full diesel. That has a horrible habit of blowing pistons out the side of the block and leaving the main bearings looking like confetti on the pavement. Just ask general motors what happens when you try and covert an engine designed to run on gasoline to burn diesel.
